At WTC, high school students have the opportunity to take vocational technical courses that offer both high school and college credit. These are called Career and Technology Education courses, or CATE for short. In mutual recognition of the value of training offered at each institution, WTC and the Williamsburg County School District have established a dual enrollment/dual credit program agreement in which high school junior and senior students may earn college credit in several vocational technology programs.
The agreement establishes those parameters which are necessary for the award of college credit and will facilitate the orderly progression of students from one institution to the other.
WTC awards appropriate semester-hour credit for select technology programs and will make every attempt to place advanced students into the appropriate level of instruction based on demonstrated competencies.
For more information about the CATE program, contact Mr. Mike Cumbie. To apply as a CATE students, complete the Application for Admission on the left of this page. and the Signature Waiver Form which can be sent electronically to WTC.
