Produce quality Open Butt Single Vee Groove welds on pipe with the Gas Tungsten Arc Welding process in the 2G horizontal, 5G vertical, and 6G 45 degree positions. Adjust machine settings, strike and control an arc, read the puddle to make quality root pass and filler, cover pass bead welds. Demonstrate control of bead placement to make quality groove welds. Inspect welds for proper Root Pass, Filler Pass and Cover Pass expectance criteria and weld defects. Explain Non-Destructive and Destructive Weld Test methods.
