What is Multifactor Authentication?
Multifactor authentication is a security mechanism that verifies a user’s identity by requiring multiple credentials. As such, WTC has adopted the use of the Microsoft Authenticator App for added security purposes.
What is the Microsoft Authenticator App?
The Microsoft Authenticator App is available for free and can easily be downloaded and installed on mobile devices, including iPhones, Android phones, Windows phones, and tablets. The Microsoft Authenticator app helps users to securely sign into their accounts by providing a randomized 6-digit code. This code changes automatically every 30 seconds, which prevents somebody from using the same code multiple times.

Check Your WTC Email
Keep close check on your student.wiltech.edu email so you won’t miss important messages regarding classes, cancellations, events, etc.
Be sure you remember the following information to access your email:
– Email address is firstname.lastname@student.wiltech.edu – You must email mishelp@wiltech.edu to receive your password.
WTC student email accounts are provided to active students only.
One full year after graduation or when a student stops attending classes for two (2) consecutive semesters, they are no longer recognized as an active student of Williamsburg Technical College.
At this time their WTC student account will be deactivated, and access to the associated email address and OneDrive cloud storage will be removed.
Preparing for Deactivation
If you have received notification that your account will soon be deactivated, we strongly encourage you to take the following steps:
Forward important emails to a personal email address
Notify important contacts of a personal email address
Download local copies of any important files from your WTC OneDrive storage.
