Historical Society Donates Book to College
Williamsburg Technical College recently received a donation by the Williamsburgh Historical Society of a book by local author Eleanor Winn Foxworth. The book, entitled South Carolina’s Williamsburg and published for the historical society, is a collection of historical biographical articles that appeared in “The News” of Kingstree from 2001-2004.
In addition to her careers in teaching, alumnae work, and church administration, Foxworth served as the first public relations director for Williamsburg Technical College from its founding through the early 1980’s. Her book is a result of years of research on the lives of the men and women who shaped the Williamsburg County area where she was born and raised.
The autographed book will remain on display in the Williamsburg Technical College library and copies are available for purchase at the Williamsburg Historical Museum, 135 Hampton Avenue, Kingstree.
