Lowder to Speak at WTC Graduation

 

Pat Lowder, chief nursing officer at the Williamsburg Regional Hospital, will be the guest speaker at Williamsburg Technical College’s graduation ceremony on Friday, May 4 at 7 p.m. in the College’s courtyard.

 

Lowder is a resident of the New Zion community in Williamsburg County and received her associate degree in nursing from the University of South Carolina.  Prior to her current position at Williamsburg Regional, she was nurse manager for the emergency department there.  She has over 16 years experience in nursing and over 31 years experience in the hospital setting.

 

In addition to her career, Lowder is also affiliated with the South Carolina Organization of Nurse Executives and is involved with the community Relay for Life, the Red Cross annual blood drive, Special Olympics in the county schools, and county health fares.

 

Williamsburg Technical College will award associate degrees, diplomas and certificates to 140 graduates during the May 4 ceremony.  In the event of rain, the graduation ceremony will be held in the Kingstree Senior High School gym. Graduates and guests are invited to bring canned goods or children’s books to the ceremony to donate to the College’s Phi Theta Kappa “Project Graduation” endeavor which will help fight hunger and illiteracy in the county.
