Awards were granted to 148 graduates during the May 4 Williamsburg Technical College ceremonies. Guest speaker for the evening was Margaret “Pat” Lowder, chief nursing officer at Williamsburg Regional Hospital.
Prior to the conferring of awards, Williamsburg Technical College early childhood development instructor Carletta Isreal was presented the College’s Herbert R. Quarles, Jr. Excellence in Teaching Award. Established in 2001 by the Williamsburg Tech faculty in memory of Quarles, this annual award recognizes the outstanding contributions of an adjunct faculty member.
Dr. Cleve H. Cox, president of Williamsburg Tech, conferred degrees, diplomas and certificates upon the graduates, and Clifton “Rusty” Elliott, dean of instruction and Greg Askins, chairman of the College’s Commission board, congratulated the graduates as they received their awards.
