Williamsburg Technical College student Shavon A. Woods from Kingstree has been awarded a $1,000 scholarship from the Coca-Cola Scholars Foundation. She was among only 400 recipients nationwide who were recognized in this year’s program.
Woods, a full-time general business associate of arts student at the College, is also employed full-time as an administrative assistant with McCrea’s Auto Sales and Repair. In addition, she is vice president of the Williamsburg Technical College Student Government Association and is a member of the College’s Student Support Services organization. She also teaches Sunday school at Mount Moriah Holiness Church. She and her husband Joseph have two children, Jacques and Si’Nai.
The Coca-Cola Scholars Foundation was created in 1986 to commemorate the 100th anniversary of Coca-Cola and to establish a legacy for the education of tomorrow’s leaders. It has provided $3.25 million in scholarship awards to students attending two-year degree-granting institutions and more than $32 million toward the Coca-Cola Scholars program during the past 18 years.
