STUDENT RECEIVES OUTSTANDING LEADERSHIP AWARD

Ashley Cooper was selected as South Carolina Council of Educational Opportunity Program Personnel (SCCEOPP) 2010 Wanda Hendricks-Bellamy Outstanding Student Leader.  The Upward Bound Program along with the Educational Talent Search Program traveled to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, on January 15 – 17, 2010, for the 12^th Annual Wanda Hendricks-Bellamy Student Leadership Conference. Ashley was selected from among more than 400 Upward Bound and Educational Talent Search students in attendance from 16 colleges and universities in the State of South Carolina. This award is for a student who demonstrates outstanding leadership qualities, maintains a positive attitude, serves as a role model for his/her peers, is always respectful to others, and exemplifies the 2010 WHBSLC theme…”Transforming and Empowering Leaders to Make Change.” Ashley is a participant in the Upward Bound Program at Williamsburg Technical College and a senior at C. E. Murray High School.
