HOSTS 11TH ANNUAL MATH CONTEST
Williamsburg Technical College hosted the 11th annual WTC Math Contest on February 13. Five area high schools participating included Hemingway, Kingstree Senior, Carvers Bay, Johnsonville, and Williamsburg Academy.
Williamsburg Academy won the overall team portion of the contest under the leadership of team sponsor Shelby McCutchen. Members of that team were Keri Price, Frances McGill, McKenzie Ward, Hannah Hatch, and Louise Smunk.
Winning teams in second, third, fourth and fifth place were Carvers Bay, Hemingway, Kingstree, and Johnsonville respectively. Team members for each of these teams included: Carvers Bay students Macey Owens, Qushaun Gibson, De Chane Lance, Breana Gamble, and Kyle Dean; Hemingway students Ashley Flowers, Chris Patel, Henry Brewington II, Rashad Smalls, Christina Cooper, and Julietta Dickson; Kingstree students Xavier Branham, Michael Myers, Sai Maddali, Daniel Harris, and Aman Khurana; and Johnsonville students Lauren Stogner, Kellie White, Amelia Bryant, Jimmy Parker, and Kalyn Squires. The top scorer from all five schools and the overall individual winner was Qushaun Gibson of Carvers Bay.
