Williamsburg Technical College Early Childhood Scholarship Awarded

 

Williamsburg Technical College Early Childhood instructor Ms. Earlene Walker-Kelly (third from left) recently presented the Early Childhood Scholarship Award during the College’s annual scholarship awards ceremony.  Walker-Kelly presented the 2009 awards to (from left) Felicia Hanna from Lake City, an Associate in Public Services Early Childhood Development major; Ieisha Higgins from New Zion, also an Associate in Public Services Early Childhood Development major; and Joan McCray from Andrews, a General College Studies major. Hanna is a member of the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society at the College and Higgins was last year’s Williamsburg First National Bank Scholarship recipient.

 

The Early Childhood Scholarship criteria require that the recipient be a teacher, director, or family childcare provider working in a licensed or registered child care facility; be enrolled in Associate in Public Services Early Childhood program; be committed to completing 9-15 hours of education a semester. The award is for between $600 and $900 per student.
