Free Financial Aid Application Workshop Planned at Williamsburg Technical College

Williamsburg Technical College will host “South Carolina College Goal Sunday,” a financial aid workshop on Saturday, February 28, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. to help college-bound students and their families with the financial aid application process.

The workshop is designed to provide financial aid information and assistance in completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) for students who plan to further their education at any two- or four-year institution. FAFSA completion is required for students seeking federal and state financial aid including grants and loans at all colleges in the country. Participants should bring their 2008 income tax returns.

Door prizes which will include two iPods will be awarded. Light refreshments, campus tours, and conversations with faculty advisors will also be a part of the informal program.

The event is sponsored by Williamsburg Technical College in conjunction with the South Carolina Commission on Higher Education (CHE) and the South Carolina Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators (SCASFAA). Nationally dubbed “College Goal Sunday” as a word play on “Super Bowl Sunday,”  the event is held at various campuses across South Carolina on the last Saturday of February and is made possible by a grant from the Lumina Foundation for Education.
