Phi Theta Kappa Raises Money for Red Cross
Williamsburg Technical College’s Alpha Sigma Gamma chapter of the Phi Theta Kappa International Honor Society recently raised $750 for the American Red Cross. According to Red Cross Coastal South Carolina Chapter Director of Public Support Nanci Conley, “From July 1, 2008 to April 30, 2009 the Red Cross assisted 138 people in Williamsburg County who lost their homes to fires, 53 of whom were children. $23,660 was provided to them to assist with their immediate emergency needs of food, clothing and shelter.”
The Red Cross is a non-profit organization that is required to raise all of its funds in the communities we serve. The Phi Theta Kappa International Honor Society recognizes and encourages academic achievement of two-year college students and provides opportunities for individual growth and development through honors, leadership and service programming.
