REAFFIRMED FOR ACBSP ACCREDITATION

Williamsburg Technical College recently received notice of reaffirmation of accreditation of their business programs by the Association of Collegiate Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP) Associate Degree Board of Commissioners. The College will be recognized for their accreditation during the ACBSP Annual Conference in San Antonio, Texas in June.

Douglas G. Viehland, executive director of the ACBSP, says, “Williamsburg Technical College has shown their commitment to teaching excellence by participating in the accreditation process, achieving accreditation and continuing the process of quality improvement.  This accreditation is evidence of Williamsburg Technical College’s commitment to quality business programs."

Williamsburg Technical College’s president Dr. Cleve H. Cox and dean of instruction Clifton R. Elliott both give credit for the program’s excellence to the quality instructors and the support of the overall College.  “We are very proud of this accreditation because it symbolizes the spirit of our College,” Cox says.  “We offer quality educational opportunities to the people of our area and, in turn, make a difference in the lives all our students and our community.”

For institutions that achieve accreditation for their business programs, the teaching and learning processes must meet the rigorous educational standards established by the ACBSP.  The ratification of accreditation by ACBSP covers a ten-year period during which time Williamsburg Technical College must continually reaffirm its quality through quality assurance reports.
