Position: English Instructor
Williamsburg Technical College, located in Kingstree, SC, is currently accepting applications for the full-time faculty position of English Instructor. There is a need to fill this position before the summer term starting in May 2010.
General Duties: This position will be responsible for instruction in college transfer English composition and grammar courses as well as courses in English and American literature. He or She will be responsible for teaching, supervising, and evaluating students in the classroom setting. This position will provide academic advising consistent with student’s intended goals, develop and implement successful retention activities, and direct students to appropriate student support services. In addition, the incumbent will be responsible for keeping accurate academic records; participate in faculty meetings and attend college functions. The selected candidate must also remain active in organizations by attending workshops and other educational offerings in order to continue to upgrade teaching abilities and skills. He / She will assist in student registration, orientation, and special projects.
Minimum Educational and Experience Requirements: Master’s degree in English or a Master’s degree in a related discipline plus 18 graduate hours in English. Must be proficient in oral and written English communication. Must be able to work independently. Teaching experience at the post secondary level is preferred.
Salary: Commensurate with education and experience.

Position: Biology Instructor
Williamsburg Technical College, located in Kingstree, SC, is currently accepting applications for the full-time faculty position of Biology Instructor. There is a need to fill this position before the summer term starting in May 2010.
General duties: This position will be responsible for instruction in college transfer biology courses in general biology, anatomy and physiology, and microbiology. He / She will be responsible for managing classroom, laboratory, and clinical activities in an orderly manner, developing and designing new courses, and updating current courses based on community needs and use of assessment results. Additionally, the successful candidate will serve as the science department coordinator, working with adjunct instructors with teaching assignments in various disciplines. This position will provide academic advising consistent with student’s intended goals, develop and implement successful retention activities, and direct students to appropriate student support services. He / She will assist in student registration and orientation.

College Level Academic Tutor
(Temporary Position)

Williamsburg Technical College is accepting applications for College Level Academic Tutors. These are part time positions consisting of 8 to 20 hours per week.
General duties are as follows: Academic tutors will assist students in studying, preparing for exams; and reviewing class assignments and reading materials. They will also provide academic support and suggestions for improving study habits. Prepares weekly and monthly tutorial reports.
Essential Requirements: Qualified applicants must have an associate or bachelor’s degree in the specified subject area. Applicant must provide an official copy of college/university transcript. Must be able to demonstrate strong interpersonal, computer and communication skills.
Salary: $8.00 - 12.00 per hour.

Part-Time Continuing Education Temporary Instructor Positions
The Williamsburg Technical College Division of Continuing Education needs part-time temporary instructors for training classes currently being developed.
Instructors are needed on a part time temporary basis in the following areas:
Introductory Computer/ Internet
Customer Service
Project Management
Phlebotomy
CNA (days & evenings)
The development of these programs is expected to be completed in the near future. The classes will be held on various days and times, both day and evening. In an effort to fill these part-time instructor positions, resumes and applications will be accepted at any time for these positions and will be held on file for 12 months.
