Which type of student are you?

NEW
You are a new student if you are attending WTC for the first time, have not attended any other approved, regionally accredited postsecondary institution, and want to enroll in a curriculum program to pursue an associate degree, diploma, or certificate.

NONDEGREE
You are a nondegree student if you do not plan to earn a certificate, degree, or diploma at WTC.  Nondegree students must be at least 18 years old or meet the criteria for WTC's high school programs (refer to catalog).  Nondegree students have no admission requirements but may be asked to provide transcripts or test scores as evidence of course prerequisites.  Nondegree students are not eligible for financial aid or lottery-funded tuition assistance.

UNDECIDED
You are an undecided student if you have met admissions requirements but have not chosen an academic program at WTC or are not sure whether you want to earn a certificate, diploma, and/or a two-year degree.  A College counselor can help you choose a program of study or advise you regarding courses to take while you are undecided.  Undecided students are not eligible for financial aid or lottery-funded tuition assistance.

RETURNING
You are a returning student if you have not been enrolled within the last three semesters.  Visit the Office of Admission by the application deadline of the semester you plan to attend.

TRANSFER
You are a transfer student if you are attending WTC for the first time, you have attended other approved, regionally accredited postsecondary institutions, and you plan to transfer credit. You must submit official transcripts from all colleges from which you want transfer credit to WTC.  WTC will not compute transfer hours or grades in your GPA.  WTC accepts all transfer students in good standing, without regard to records of disciplinary or academic standing at the previous institution(s).  WTC transcripts will show the transfer credit awarded.  Submit an application for admission (available on this site or in the Office of Admission) and $10 nonrefundable application fee. You must meet requirements for the program of study you choose.

TRANSIENT
Transient students are students from other colleges and universities.  They may be admitted to take summer work provided they are in good standing at their institutions, eligible to return, and have institutional permission to enroll in a particular course.  You are a transient student if you are matriculating at another college and wish to enroll at WTC. Submit an application for admission (available on this site or in the Office of Admission) and $10 nonrefundable application fee and be sure to bring a transient form from the home institution stating which classes are being taken. It is also important to consult with your home institution advisor before enrolling in courses at WTC to be sure they will transfer into your curriculum.

HIGH SCHOOL
If you attend high school in Williamsburg County or a home school association, you may participate in our Dual Enrollment program.  For more information on these programs, please call 843.355.4133 or email chandlerm@wiltech.edu.

AUDIT
If you want to enroll in curriculum classes without earning credit, submit an application for admission (available on this site or in the Office of Admission) and $10 nonrefundable application fee, pay full tuition for course work, and get departmental approval to audit classes with prerequisite or test score requirements. Some courses may not be audited.  Register as an audit student.  You will not get credit for courses you take as an audit student and may not change from audit-to-credit or credit-to-audit status after Drop/Add.

SENIOR CITIZEN
If you are over 60, a legal resident of South Carolina and not employed full time, you may take selected academic courses at WTC on a space-available basis as a senior citizen without paying tuition.  Submit an application for admission (available on this site or in the Office of Admission) and $10 nonrefundable application fee.
